The Isle of Barra is a beautiful island situated in the Hebrides off the west coast of Scotland.  With it's tranquil surroundings and fascinating history, Barra is a popular and unique holiday destination.

Barra has some of the most stunning scenery, extreme weather and beautiful sandy beaches in Scotland, all of which combine to make it an unusual but attractive holiday destination.

The island offers activities to occupy all age groups, including fishing, golf, bird watching and bicycle hire.  Barra is also abundant with rare flowers and wildlife, which can be appreciated by taking a walk along one of the many coastal or hill walking routes.

At Castlebay, a small boat takes regular trips out to Kisimul Castle, and boat trips to Eriskay and Mingulay are also on offer during the summer season.

The island can be reached by boat or by plane, which is a unique experience with the runway being the beach!
